This is an F3 tornado during a large outbreak of tornadoes all across Iowa and Illinois. There were no fatalities and not much severe damage. There were many storm chasers chasing tornadoes in May 1995.

During the May tornado outbreak (which produced 278 confirmed tornadoes between May 6 and May 19, 1995) a tornado touched down outside of Jetmore, Kansas on May 6, 1995. This tornado, though only an F0 on the Fujita Scale, had a path of 1.5 miles. Luckily, no severe damage was caused by this particular twister.

Almost $30 million worth of damage was done to the industrial section of Pampa, Texas on June 8, 1995. After a path of 3 miles and a track almost 200 yards wide, this tornado became the costliest tornado this town has seen. This tornado was rated an F4 on the Fujita scale.

Waterspout Hits Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio on June 30, 1998

The waterspout formed over Lake Eerie, and headed towards Cedar Point Amusement Park. The sight of the funnel cloud caused everyone at the park to panic, including the unprepared employees. Luckily out of three funnel clouds, none of them hit the park.

New York Tornado 1998

May 31, 1998 an F3 Tornado Hits Stillwater, New York

On May 31, 1998 an F3 tornado ripped through Mechanicville and Stillwater, New York. The old industrial section of Mechanicville was hit the hardest in the late afternoon. An entire neighborhood was destroyed in these storms. This tornado had an estimated wind speed over 200 mph.

This tornadoes path started just outside of Lone Tree, Iowa on May 15, 1998. It quickly grew to the ranks of an F3 tornado, passed Lone Tree, and kept heading Northeast. This tornado didn’t cause any major damage nor did it cause any casualties.

Tornado Outside Sitka, Kansas on March 31, 1999

This tornado is a very picturesque tornado, and seemed to keep out of any towns. Though it looks like it could do some damage, it was an individual and stuck to tearing up trees and destroying ground in a field outside of Sitka, Kansas. Which is just perfect for storm chasers.
